Accidentals and dissonances must be played strongly to convey the full effect of the piece and your students will have fun with the avant-garde/aleatoric section using foot rumbles and notes played out of time to create chaos. Percussive eruptions, driving eighth note rhythms, and intervals reminiscent of Gustav Holst's Mars give this work excitement and life.
