Syncopated rhythmic textures and punctuations introduce this mature-sounding work. A flowing melody is then introduced in the trumpets and passed to the woodwinds. A legato, contrasting B-section continues the forward-motion but feels slightly in half-time before a return to the A-section this time accented by short percussion breaks.
