Requiring a mature group to master, this Adagio Espressivo in F minor was published posthumously at the composer's request. Initially intended to be the opening work of a triptich, it was reworked to be part of two contrasting movements, then ended up being an entity unto itself. Intricately woven, it explores rich harmonization with many accidentals and subtle advanced rhythmic concepts. It features brief solo lines for principal first violin, second violin and cello. New Ohio MEA H.S. Class A String Orchestra for 2013.
This promotional recording is for listening purposes only.
