No other Advent hymn is more recognizable than the beautiful chant VENI EMMANUEL. Originally set by Larry Shackley for piano solo ("Christmas Reflections" Code No. 8283) this accessible 3-5 octave transcription was done by Arnold Sherman and features the use of open 4ths and 5ths creating a dreamy, wistful mood. This mysterious presentation crescendos and builds to the memorable refrain: "Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel."
