Whether performed as a service of worship during Lent of Holy Week or as an awe-inspiring Easter service (with the inclusion of the optional final monologue and chorus), the depth and soul-stirring emotion of this remarkable and creative presentation will touch and enliven congregations from the most liturgical to the most contemporary of traditions. Monologues from Judas, Peter, Pontius Pilate, Simon of Cyrene, Mary, the two thieves crucified with Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and (optionally) John relate the dramatic events from their own perspective, all the while being intrinsically woven into the fabricand passion of the music as they tell their story. An accompaniment DVD (including all the monologues) or an accompaniment CD (music only) is available, as are a Drama Guide and a Sound-Effects CD for live presentations.With choral parts that are well within the vocal grasp of most volunteer choirs and an available drama guide to aid in preparation, this exciting new dramatic work is accessible in all facets - technically, dramatically, and musically, with parts for an SATB choir, unison children s choir, alto and tenor soloist, and nine dramatic characters.
