Students love flights of fancy and they'll love this piece as well! Wasting no time on an introduction, we're immediately off to fight the dreaded dragon. Grice has captured the spirit of the title with metallic sounds in the percussion juxtaposed with smooth woodwind lines and solid brass interjections. A sense of urgency is felt throughout the piece without a clear view as to who wins the battle. Very cool!!
