** Stanton’s Staff Selection – 2007 **Key: Eb - Meters: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4Rhythms: various 8th note/8th rest patterns, 8th note off-beat syncopationTeaching Concepts: rhythm reading, mixed meter, counting, subdivision, dynamics
The title of this piece is a pun on the mathematical 'algorithm' - a problem solved in a finite, patterned number of steps. Algorithms are also used in computer programming. Mixed meters, plenty of 8th note patterns, syncopations and interesting harmonies create a digital, 'algorhythmic' feel to this work. A unique selection for your next concert. (3:40)
